I got interviewed by Rich Piatt

I sat down this morning and was interviewed by Rich Piatt of KSL-TV in Salt Lake City. He wasn't sure when the piece would air, but it won't be tonight. We'll let you know when it's on.

From KSL.com: Utah Democrats react to Clinton's announcement

Sarah Dallof reporting/ VIDEO

Utah Democrats say today's announcement by Hillary Clinton unifies the presidential campaign and brings them one step closer to a victory in November.

As you can imagine, leaders in the Utah Democratic Party have been closely following the race. They say it's sparked interest in their party and in the political process in general.

Now they're looking forward to Sen. Barack Obama starting to debate Sen. John McCain.

Utah Democratic Party Vice Chair Rob Miller disagrees with critics who say Clinton should have dropped out long ago.

"We've seen record numbers of people, especially in Democratic primaries and caucuses, turn out. I think it's given people opportunity to vote in primaries who haven't before, and quite frankly, it's made Barack Obama a stronger campaigner having to go toe-to-toe with Hillary Clinton," Miller said.

Now people wait to see who Obama picks as a running mate. Miller says he fully supports a Clinton-Obama ticket, as well as several other possibilities.

KSL and Andrew Adams should check their facts

From ksl.com:
2 announce intention to run against Huntsman

March 11th, 2008 @ 11:17am
Andrew Adams reporting

Gov. Jon Huntsman finally has some competition to face in his re-election bid. But state Democrats aren't sanctioning these candidates.

One candidate is a Republican-turned-Democrat who is currently charged with drug possession. Monty "Millionaire" Nafoosi—"Millionaire" is the official nickname--has a pretrial conference scheduled on Thursday. Bountiful police say they found pot and drug paraphernalia on him the day after New Year's.

The other candidate is Bob Springmeyer. He owns a consulting firm and says he likes the bobsled and skeleton. But he says the only thing crazier than doing that is running against Huntsman.

Democratic Party leaders say neither of these guys is their main choice. They are recruiting a candidate and should announce who that person is in the coming days.

The filing deadline is March 17.

Rob Miller's response:

Although the Utah Democratic Party understands that there might be candidates that may file for governor that we are not aware of, it is a complete fabrication that we have recruited any other candidate than Bob Springmeyer to run for governor.

The Party also understands that it is up to the delegates to decide who the Democratic candidate will be, but for KSL to say that we will be announcing a third candidate as our "sanctioned" candidate is incorrect.

We love KSL, but they should check their facts before submitting this type of story to the public.

With every best wish,

KSL is just a little bit confused

KSL has taken the position that the Voucher Referendum petition is too "divisive"

"Divisive", they should know what this word means since they broadcast Sean Hannity's "divisive" rhetoric every weekday from 1 to 4 p.m.

But wait, doesn't KSL promote Sean as the guy whose opinions "Just Make Sense"?

Divisive: creating disunity or dissension.

Sense: conscious awareness or rationality.

So what they are really saying is that the Voucher Referendum "Just Makes Sense".

I guess they are just a little bit confused. It can happen.
