Utah's Naughtiest Spammer

No Jesse, it's not the Captain.

It's Kathy Dopp.

I understand that you are passionate Kathy, but your absolute refusal to remove me from your e-mail group might seem, well, a bit hypocritical.

If you have a blog, or if you would like to start one, I would be happy to link it.

But until then, please respect my multiple requests and remove me from your e-mail list.

With every best wish,

The Utah Amicus

This is among the many reasons why I've been pushing for a new anti-spam law in our state. Some folks just don't take "no" for an answer. (Susan Sorensen? I'm looking at you.)

It took me two tries to get her to take me off, but it is possible.

Oh YEAH JESSE, MORE LAWS are just what we need.

A sensible blogger/email recipient merely deletes the spam messages.

For some strange reason though, the Utah Amicus (curious choice of a name for a "lefty" blog) chose to highlight the problem...and then provide a link to "the perpetrstor's blogsite.

Rudi: So does a "sensible" system administrator just accept that 90% of their mail volume will be junk mail and waste 90% of their mailing resources on mitigating it? Seems like if someone causes a cost to another party without their consent, the injured party is entitled to seek compensation, no? That's my understanding of the basis of law anywho.

Here's the deal folks, I actually receive e-mails from Kathy on several accounts. So, I have asked to be deleted so that I don't receive five identical e-mails.

I also agree that it's easy to delete, but it is also my opinion that when the sender has a unsubscribe option that has been utilized, that request should be respected, especially after three or more requests have been made.

Thanks for dropping by Rudizink. Although I have no idea why you would state that the name of this blog is a curious choice for a "lefty blog", I do want to thank you for the letting me know that I need to be more sensible.

BTW, I read your blog on a regular basis and I think you are doing a great job in Weber County.

OMG! This is a "lefty" blog?!

I wish you had told me.

I just saw Utah and thought that it was a righty blog. That's it. I'm leaving now.....

But seriously, I agree with you Rob. I had similar problems with her, and finally ended up adding her to my spam folder.
