it looks like that link has an extra http in it, and fire dog lake has a lot of coverage up, but the site keeps getting overloaded.
Why do I see a pardon in his future.
I don't want to excuse false testimony in a legal case. The rule of law depends on our honesty under oath. Having said that, it seems weird that this case ever went to trial in the first place. The case, as I've read about it in the press, was very flimsy.
The weirdest part is that I recall reading that Fitzgerald already knew the identity of the leaker, Richard Armitage, before Libby testified. Why did Fitzgerald continue the investigation to find the leaker when he already had the answer--almost from the start? It was an investigation about nothing.
I hope Libby is punished for what crime he committed and not for what crime people think others may have committed--making Libby the fall guy.
In the story you linked, Pelosi is quoted as saying, "The testimony unmistakably revealed — at the highest levels of the Bush administration — a callous disregard in handling sensitive national security information and a disposition to smear critics of the war in Iraq."
Good thing Pelosi wasn't under oath when she said that, or the perjury case against her would be stronger than the one against Libby! The testimony DID NOT show what she claims, because the judge explicitly barred such evidence from being presented. They weren't allowed to talk about whether Plame was covert. No charges were or will be brought to that effect. This was a very narrow case about a very narrow charge. Pelosi shames herself with such language. She holds a very responsible position and she ought to act like it.
Come on Bradly, This isn't about Pelosi. She isn't the criminal, Libby is.
Get a grip man!
