A Visit From Yaron Gamburg
Deputy Consul General of Israel
Yaron Gamburg has a message. He wants to encourage people to be optimistic about the State of Israel and the Middle East. He also revealed that Israel is very interested in building and retaining a positive relationship with the U.S. Hispanic Community, and that he is aware and quite pleased that so many Utah citizens are interested in, and travel to Israel. These are just a few of the insights Deputy Gamburg discussed with a small democratic delegation last Tuesday at a luncheon in his honor at the Utah State Capitol.
U.S. Senate candidate Pete Ashdown stated, "Meeting Israeli Deputy Console Yaron Gamburg was an informative delight. Mr. Gamburg has an excellent inside understanding of the Mid-East that gave me insight to foreign affairs of this troubled region. I appreciate him making the time to spend with political leaders of Utah."
The luncheon was held at the State Capitol to assure that Senator Patrice Arent and Representative David Litvack could attend. Other guest included Utah State Democratic Chairman Wayne Holland Jr., and Vice Chair Rob Miller, Mike Reberg from Congressman Matheson's office, U.S. Senate candidate Pete Ashdown, 1st Congressional district candidate Steve Olsen, Attorney Art Sandack, Democratic Activist Sheryl Ginsberg, and Dr. Naomi Franklin.

This was a wonderful opportunity to meet with an erudite diplomat from the State of Israel. Rob, you were a great addition to the group, even though you are not Jewish. But you could be...
I enjoyed breaking bread with all the people who were there. I was especially impressed with Senator Arent and Representative Litvak. It is clear that their qualifications as Legislators are not exaggerated.
