Yes We Can!

Last Saturday night the Davis County Democrats and the Davis County Republicans met for their Fourth Annual Championship Softball Game in Layton, Utah.

Over the last three years we have had to face defeat to the Davis County GOP, but not this year. The Mighty Davis County Donkeys beat the Republican Reptiles 13 to 5.

Was it the Jean Welch Hill and Barack Obama signs that were lined up as one drove into the ball park, or maybe it was the Watson for Senate and J Dell Holbrook Banners that were placed on the outfield fence, or was is the fact that Davis County Commission candidate Holbrook was the game's play-by-play man?

Maybe it was the incredible support we received from the Young Democrats of Utah, and the fact that we actually had for the first time more than enough players to make up a complete team.

Whatever the reason for this incredible win, for me it was a sign of things to come due to the hard work and determination from Utah Democrats in Davis County and all across the state.

At first the game was close but as the innings passed it became pretty clear that we would be victorious, and what a sweet victory it was.

Right before the game ended my wife Michelle told me to turn around and look up at the mountains. I did as she asked and for the second time this week I viewed a most beautiful rainbow.

It was at this point that I thought, "all is good" and, "Yes We Can!"

Enjoy the Photos.

Thank you
