Stewart Hanson passed away on Sunday March 30, 2008 at 69

Stewart Hanson passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2008 at the age of 69. In 1992 Stewart ran for Governor of the State of Utah as the Democratic candidate against Mike Leavitt and Merrill Cook. I remember Stewart's campaign well. It was the year I married Michelle and it was the first time I remember meeting former Utah State Democratic Chair Donald Dunn. Stewart's wife Deanne is Donald's father's sister. When I called Deanne to give my condolences she told me that she was a Republican when she and Stewart first met and that she had thrown him out of her house the night Kennedy beat Nixon due to his gloating.

I will post more on Stewart later this week.

FYI...Deanne is the sister of Donalds father Kenny.

That is too bad. Stewart was a good guy. I didn't know about the connection of Deanne and Donald Dunn.

My sympathies to Deanne and family.
