Utah House Democrats release “The Minority Report” – a wrap up of the 2008 legislative session.

********

At the beginning of the 2008 legislative session Utah House Democrats set specific goals that we had hoped to accomplish during this year’s session. Education, the environment and health care system reform were at the top of our list as items that we felt were most important to the residents of Utah and to the constituents we represent.

Just remember, these bills passed because the republicans allowed you to have the privlidge of letting them pass.

Geez, Thanks, what a priviledge.

Sorry, I'm not drinkin that koolaid. I was with these Democratic representatives every single day during the leg session and I have never met a group who is more hardworking than the 20 members of the Utah House Democratic Caucus.

Their bills passed because they worked hard, made good legislation and built relationships with members on both sides of the aisle.

They are not at the "mercy" of the republican party nor are they a group of shrinking violets.

Pardon me for being a bit snarky but these are hardworking individuals who deserved to have their legislation passed.

"They are not at the "mercy" of the republican party ..."

Oh Emily..just what are you smoking?
Deomcrats aresuch a small group, one voice of a republican can sink any bill that a democrat proposes ; wake up and face reality.

I say, "Wake up and change reality!"

The GOP is worried. I know, I was at the central committee meeting yesterday.

You Dems are doing a great job.

I'm not smokin anything. I'm speaking from experience. While you are right that one Republican can sink any bill in a moment's notice (and they can do it to their own), democratic bills survive because the Democrats are good legislators. If they weren't good legislators (communicating, making relationships, lobbying for their bills, etc.), their legislation wouldn't survive.

Democratic legislators were elected by their communities. For Republican legislators to feel that those lawmakers are less than they is a big mistake.

The wind is changing. You might want to take notice.
