LDS Church takes "no position" on vouchers

From a recent article in the Trib:

In response to questions about the Sutherland essay, church spokesman Mark N. Tuttle issued a two-sentence response: "The Church has taken no position on the issue of school vouchers. Past statements by Church leaders should not be interpreted to imply any position for or against the current issue."

***********

Paul Mero is right about one thing - our public schools ARE worth fighting for. Vote AGAINST school vouchers!

That's right. And the church should not and will not take a position. Nobody should assume anything when it comes to the church and its silence on vouchers. One thing I can't stand is when people use the church to justify a political position, no matter what it is. Keep the church out of it.
