Dick Cheney’s argument that the Office of the Vice President is not part of the Executive Branch may be a good thing. Maybe his office doesn’t exist at all. Maybe he’s not the Veep either.Halleluiah! I think we should all just hold our breath and play dumb.

I was hoping you guys would post this. Cheney's argument that he is not part of the executive branch is as stupid as Burningham's argument that the School Board is not part of the executive branch.
I don't care which party an official is from; it cannot be considered tolerable when an official acts as a law unto himself/herself.
Anonymous - Burningham never made that argument. The sidewards "4th branch" commment came from Tom Gregory, a voucher supporter. He happened to be thinking out loud about the relationship between the school board and the three branches of government. I'm willing to give him a pass on this but apparently your solution is to misattribute his quotation and attempt to create a spurious link between a Utah educational hero and powermonger DICK CHENEY!!!???
