Switching from public to private schools brings only one new factor to the table: the idea that schools, to be successful, will have to be financially profitable. Adding the management style of McDonalds and Wal-Mart to the education equation does not appear, to me, to be a wise fix to a complicated problem. I guess school supplies will be cheaper when we buy them all from China, and require students to take turns with the pencil.

Sour grapes?
Union thugs? Dude, take a chill pill. The people who helped get this through are moms and dads and people who care about children.
The "union thug" thing is getting old.
We met our goal in Iron County - we actually exceeded it!
This was a parent / PTA effort. Lots of moms and dads, not any union thugs that I could see.
In Iron county we have a very high regard for our public schools. We want them to stay strong and viable.

Anon 1,
"how many dead people signed this?"
You are simply ridiculous.
Congratulations!
I guess we will have something to banter about for a few more months/weeks.
Will a lawsuit stop these signitures from used..I wouldn't pout it past the walmart funded thugs to do such a thing
Congrats.
Glad to see the Utah Senate taking credit where credit is due.
