The Voice of reason

Well Scooter Libby was found guilty of 4 of the 5 counts he was charged with. As predictable as the sun rise, the right-wing fog-horn apologist's for the Bush-Cheney gang are squealing like stuck pigs. In the case of Rush Limbaugh that last metaphor is a bit redundant. It is amazing how these people can continue to ignore the facts about so many screw ups this administration has committed and continue their flame-throwing diatribe blaming the "Main Stream Press" for it.

The reality is these syndicated blowhards are heard on radio 24/7 in every radio market in the country while the nightly network news has 22 minutes a day to report the days events. The major newspapers in this country reach only a fraction of the audience the talking heads on radio reach. Talk Radio IS the main stream media. As we have witnessed with the latest screed by Ann Coulter at the major Republican event by CPAC calling Democratic Presidential candidate John Edwards a "faggot". Her explanation of the comment was beyond laughable. She said it was meant as a joke and I can see that it was an attempt at humor none the less telling a joke using any hate speech stereotypes is beyond offensive. The best laugh I got was when she was on Hannity and Punching Bag on FOX NOISE that night trying to say that the word faggot was just a school yard term meaning a wimp, that it had no connection to homosexuality!

Tom,

It is so good to have you back!

Thank you for contributing to this new form of media, which I feel will take over talk radio in the future.

Whomever recruited you, I salute them!

Welcome back!

Steve,

Thanks for the kind words. I agree that Blogging is getting increasingly important and recognized for the limitless sites available and more and more of the media uses it for sources, but I don't think it will impact radio negatively. Radio uses blogs more than newspaper and TV and this is good for radio and bloggers.

On a personal note, I need a JOB! The lack of divergent voices on the air is appalling. I am shamelessly asking everyone to write or call local stations and express concern about this vacuum.

Thanks, Tom
