South Dakota Congresswoman Stephanie Herseth (above with Senator George McGovern) represents more than her constituents, she exemplifies a new generation contributing to the future of the Democratic Party. With her academic and legal background of excellence, Stephanie stepped into South Dakota politics, defeated a Republican in a special election, and was reelected by a much larger margin in November 2004.
